Academics

All Saints Catholic School is committed to providing a solid academic foundation within a Catholic environment for all students entering our doors. By infusing a coherent, cumulative, and content specific curriculum with the teachings of the Catholic Church, we provide our students with an educational experience that ignites a passion for a lifetime of learning. Our unique approach to academics distinguishes All Saints as a leader in academic achievement and our small class size allows our teaching staff to know each student’s unique strengths and abilities. Our students emerge from All Saints as confident students who are ready and able to take on the challenges of 21st century learning and lead their peers by excellence and by example. Our curriculum base is the Core Knowledge Sequence, which encompasses language arts, mathematics, science, history, geography, fine arts, and physical education. This curriculum goes beyond the state-mandated curriculum, as well as the Common Core State Standards, by providing a cumulative, coherent, and content-specific foundation of knowledge that continues to build every year in each grade level. The Core Knowledge Sequence is characterized by knowledge that is :

  • Solid - lasting, unchanging knowledge such as important events of world history;
  • Sequenced - a planned progression building on students' previous knowledge and eliminating excessive repetition and gaps;
  • Specific - clearly defined knowledge at each grade level ensuring fairness for all students;
  • Shared - providing all students, regardless of background, with the shared knowledge they need to be included in our national literate culture.
